Semimetal Bi(111) on Surface of Fe4 Single Molecular MagnetismChinese Full Text

Abstract: Single molecule magnets(SMMs)possess unique magnetic properties,such as quantum tunneling of magnetization and quantum coherent oscillation.In this experiment,in the STM tip deposition method,we have grafted the single molecule magnet Fe4 to the relatively inert semimetal Bi(111)surface,the molecular morphology observed by low temperature scanning tunneling microscope was analyzed.It has been found that the molecular structure remains to be intact.We have also measured the molecular state density distribution and HOMO-LUMO gap by means of scanning tunneling spectrum(STS)technology.All of these studies provide some key information for the application of single molecule magnet Fe4.
