Abstract: With the planning and implementation of smart grid in China,it is necessary to do information gathering and condition monitoring to transmission lines by using the on-line sensors. For a transmission line,which consists of three parts,i. e. the conductor, insulator and tower,this paper analyzes the information gathering and condition monitoring to the intelligent transmission line,including its iced monitoring,temperature detection,dancing monitoring,vibration monitoring,filthy monitoring,wind partial monitoring,anti-theft monitoring and tilt monitoring,and establishes its on-line condition monitoring system to ensure the entire power grid being in safe and stable operation.
