Abstract: The removal of iron by magnetic separation and dissolution of gibbsite were investigated. The effects of grinding time and magnetic flux density on removal iron, and the effects of lime dosage, alkali concentration and dissolution time on leaching of Al2 O3 examined. The experimental results show that the recovery rate of Al2 O3 is 76.68%and removal rate of Fe2 O3 is 83.54% under the best conditions of grinding time of 10min,magnetic flux density of 1.7T.Al2 O3 relative dissoution rate is 93.65% under the best dissolution conditions of lime dosage of 4%,alkali concentration of 180g/L and dissolution time of 45min.
