Abstract: This paper analyzes the problems of these women from a gender perspective. Gender patterns in marriage and family institutions are explored. A theory of marriage is used to explain searching for mates by unmarried older urban women. Gender culture is embedded in the search pattern to analyze the process and dilemma of women seeking mates and marriage, and some research conclusions are drawn. Finally, solutions are offered to deal with marriage pressure on women and to improve the quality of marriage,.
