SYNTHESIS AND ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OF METHYLENE BLUE BY MODIFIED WHEAT STRAWChinese Full Text

Abstract: The modified wheat straw was successfully prepared by using K2CO3 solution as the activation agent. The original and modified samples were characterized by FT-IR,SEM and adsorption of methylene blue for comprehensive structural, morphological and adsorption properties. The results showed the modified straws having lots of hollow structures because the partial hemicellulose was dissolved during the K2CO3 solution immersion process. In a certain range, increases of the modified wheat straw dosage,p H and the concentration of methylene blue would help to raise adsorption rate. Adsorption type matches the langmuir adsorption isotherm and belongs to the quasi-secondary adsorption kinetic process.
