Improving the publishing capacity of Chinese scientific journals from the perspective of thematic publishing: Based on the questionnaire survey of authors in thematic publishing of Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics

摘要:

【目的】 调研中文科技期刊专题出版存在的问题,以切实发挥专题出版价值,为中文科技期刊提升出版能力提供策略。【方法】 采用问卷调查法,回访《中国临床药理学与治疗学》专题出版情况,调研专题出版作者对出版流程和出版后推广情况的满意度,征集专题出版建议,总结专题出版存在的问题并提出改进对策。【结果】 《中国临床药理学与治疗学》组织出版的5期专题的选题涉及药学热点领域,作者单位覆盖面较广。调研中发现非公开约稿和组稿专家包办约稿方式存在约稿信息不规范、对期刊不了解和编辑部沟通不及时;部分稿件同行评议质量不高,时效较长;专题的推广渠道不够多元化,编辑部与作者合作推广尚未普及;编辑部配套相关服务能力有待增强,专题出版的持续性不足等问题。【结论】 专题出版应从组合多种约稿方式、规范约稿信息,加强与作者和学术共同体的合作推广,跟进专题配套服务、转变服务理念等方面持续发力,加强出版能力建设,助力中文科技期刊影响力提升。

Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to investigate the problems existing in the thematic publishing of Chinese scientific journals, so as to give full play to the role of thematic publishing and provide measures for improving the publishing capacity of Chinese scientific journals. [Methods] A questionnaire was designed to survey the authors of the thematic publications of Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The questionnaire involved the questions about the satisfaction degrees on the publication process and post-publication promotion and collected the opinions and suggestions on the thematic publishing. According to the survey results, the existing problems in thematic publishing were summarized, and the methods for addressing these problems were put forward. [Findings] The five themes of articles published by Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics involve the hot areas in pharmacy, with a wide ranges of author sources. The non-public commissioning and the commissioning of manuscripts by experts have the problems of unrecognized commissioning information, limited knowledge about the journal, and not in time communication with the editorial office. The peer review of some experts has low quality and is overtime. The promotion methods are not diversified enough, and the collaborative promotion by the editorial office and authors has not yet been popularized. In addition, the services of the editorial office and the sustainability of thematic publishing remain to be improved. [Conclusions] We should advance thematic publishing by employing multiple methods for commissioning manuscripts, standardizing the commissioning information of manuscripts, strengthening cooperation with authors and academic communities for promotion, providing thematic supporting services, and changing service concepts, so as to build up the publishing capacity and improve the influence of Chinese scientific journals.
